FOOD PORN: The Realtor Restaurant Review of 54Thirty

FOOD PORN: The Realtor Restaurant Review of 54Thirty

For this month’s blog I decided to review a new and posh place called 54thirty in Downtown Denver. It’s located on the rooftop of Le Méridien Hotel which is across from the Denver Convention Center.

After seeing 54thirty pop up in my newsfeed here and there from multiple friends. Watching people enjoy Sunday Fundays and couple’s night out. I started to think what’s all the buzz about? Is it just another ViewHouse kinda thing? So I decided to go on a quick little adventure with two of the RH Luxe Ladies. We headed over to 54thirty to enjoy some cocktails, apps and Colorado rays.

When you walk into the hotel it’s a bit difficult to find your way around. After a few minutes of confusion we finally found our way and headed up to the 20th Floor.

When you exit the elevator you are greeted with a Colorado-y setup. There are ski lifts and benches, the wall is a mural of the snowy mountains and my favorite part…the light fixtures were covered with cotton to make it look like you were in the Colorado clouds.

It was around 3pm which is the time the bar opens. To my surprise there were a good amount of people that had already made their way in. Now, the idea of a rooftop bar is amazing!! Right? Well, yes… unless it’s mid afternoon and the sun is beaming and there’s not a piece of shade in sight!

But fear not! We were finally able to find a semi-shaded spot and immediately order cold drinks.

Amongst the drinks were:

Frosé (frozen Rosé)

#thatviewthough (vodka, chamomile tea syrup, lemon, princess yum yum)

Rotating Cocktail (frozen moscow mule. Watch out for this one it will sneak up on you!)

Key Lime Fizz (vodka, house made pineapple shrub and soda water)

Beer(well you know how that tastes)

Once we started to sip on our drinks it’s amazing how the heat was a distant memory. And even better, once it hit around 4ish, the sun hid behind the building and all was amazing!!

The RH Ladies to decided to indulge in a few appetizers. We went with Habanero Popcorn, Truffle Chips with Onion Dip, Spicy Shrimp Lettuce Wraps and BBQ Pork Potstickers. We all agreed the Spicy Shrimp Lettuce Wraps were to die for!! So yummy! Other crowd favorites that were recommended to us were the Guacamole Especial which had seeds, nuts, coconut chips, dried fruit and yellow corn chips and the Prosciutto Bruschetta with sour cherry mostarda, grilled asparagus and pecorino romano.

As we were sitting and enjoying our food and drinks, the GM Kevin Flynn came over and introduced himself to us. He was awesome! Very accommodating and knowledgeable. We chatted for about 30 minutes and grilled him on what 54thirty was all about and what makes it unique. One of the things he mentioned was the fact that it is somewhat difficult to find your way up to the Rooftop which was a strategic move. They wanted to give it that “speakeasy” vibe. I guess a little more exclusive. I really liked that aspect of it because that’s what sets these bars apart from places like ViewHouse where anyone and everyone can bombard in at anytime. We also chatted a ton about the new straw policies and concerns and how they’ve jumped on board! Straws are now only served upon request… Yes even for frozen drinks! Which we were all totally down for.

SO..With all this being said here is the official Review from the RH Luxe Ladies:

Food: 8 The food was great but I wished they had the some bigger items instead of just apps.

Service: 10 Very attentive and nice servers

Shelelia said “ The service was great!”

Price: 9 Prices were reasonable

Location: 10 Convenient locations for people that work downtown

Atmosphere: 9 Amazing view and vibes, maybe bigger tables?

Food: 8 Would have liked bigger food options

Service: 10 Very attentive

Rachel said “ A refreshing vibe and so much fun!”

Price: 9 Definitely reasonable

Location: 10 Awesome location for people in the downtown area or tourist or people checking out the convention center

Atmosphere: 9 Would have loved more options with umbrellas to shade the sun but view was stunning, music was chill and people were great

Food: 8 Agree with everyone on bigger items

Service: 10 Very caring and knowledgeable

Some of the super cool events 54thirty is throwing that YOU should know about are:

Thursdays 6pm-11pm: Elevated Beats Series DJ Monos playing upbeat house with a tad of hip hop

Saturdays 8pm-12am: Veuve Clicquot Party “Cool Down with Clicquot” a Champagne party you don’t want to miss!!

Sundays 6pm-10pm: Service Industry Party, discounted food and drinks!

I left 54thirty feeling REFRESHED! Number one because I was tipsy from that frozen Moscow Mule that hit me out of nowhere, but number two because it was refreshingly nice to encounter a bar in Downtown Denver that didn’t have the “Lower Downtown Vibe.” No offense to those bars but now being in my Thirties I need a change of scenery and a hope that people 30+ can go downtown and enjoy some fun and not feel too old or out of place.

Hope everyone enjoyed our review of 54thirty. Go visit soon and don’t forget it’s a seasonal bar closing in November and opening again early Spring! So don’t wait! And please visit their website if you have any more questions!
