Why RH Luxe Group Has Changed My Life

This month has been monumental in my life. Everything came full circle when RHLG hit the streets of downtown Denver. We were walking down 16th Street Mall where day in and day out for 26 months I walked with my head down as fast as I could to make sure I clocked in at 8:00 am on the dot. For over two years of my life, I spent Monday through Friday in a cubicle. I was a slave to high expectations and little compensation or reward. I was undervalued and knew that there had to be more to this “adult” life. I knew that my work ethic was meant for a greater purpose. This month Adriana did a blog on Affordable Housing, so we went down to 16th Street Mall to ask the public what they knew about Affordable Housing. We were directly below my old office building where there is a statue of a bull painted with Denver characteristics. Tourists and residents alike would stop to pose with this statue as I would be walking by dreading the hours ahead. I would roll my eyes thinking, “must be nice that they get to be outside and enjoy their day”. That day, I realized that I am that person outside enjoying the day. Now, this is MY reality! I was with my team walking the streets of Denver, being silly, taking pictures in this very same spot. I was free. I wasn’t bound to a strict fifteen-minute break or required to sit in a desk having my every move watched. I was able to enjoy lunch with my team, talk about the future, our business, our goals, for an unlimited amount of time and that in itself was symbolic.

I was stuck in a position where I knew I wouldn’t be happy forever. I knew if I stayed I would always live for the weekends. I would be taking the easy way out and be forced to live an average life that I would not be satisfied with. I had a deep desire to get away from working for someone else and being locked down with the miserable masses. I had applied for jobs I knew I wouldn’t want. I even applied for a front desk position at Keller Williams to get my foot in the door, made it to the final interview and to my disappointment did not get the job. Despite this setback, I did not want to give up on finding a way out. I remember seeing Adriana post about her real estate business and thinking to myself, “I want to be a part of that”.  I talked to Adriana and she believed in me. She saw potential in me. I was extremely nervous to quit everything I had ever known, face the unknown and more importantly leave my comfort zone. However, it was one of those times in my life that I could not afford not to take a leap of faith. This jump embodied the opposite of what I was taught my entire life. Building my own schedule, commission only, working for myself, freedom, time, limitless possibility and growth. Scary, but exciting! This month I have recognized how far I have come and how much my life has changed. I am not the same person I was six months ago, my perspective on life has changed drastically. I am forever grateful for RHLG and these women who have paved the path for me to come into my own. I now have a place within a powerful group of women who have extraordinary values and an ambition that is unmatched. RH Luxe Group was everything I was looking for and more!

There are far too many people in this world who are not tapping into their true potential. So many of us have conformed to what society tells us we have to do. Go to school, get good grades, go to college, graduate, get a stable job, stay in your comfort zone, we are all taught that stability and a constant pay check is better than venturing out into the unknown and pursuing our dreams.  We as humans are psychologically trained to work for the elite, conforming to the menial tasks of a job in order to make someone else the big bucks. Now, in 2018 people are starting to realize that conformity is not necessary; there are so many alternative and better ways to make a living. Do you feel stuck or lost? I encourage you to believe in yourself, find a greater purpose, and follow your dreams. For any of you out there struggling to find your purpose don’t be afraid to jump ship into the unknown, you can do it too!

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes, the ones who see things differently, they’re not fond of rules, you can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the one thing you can’t do it ignore them, because they change things, because the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. THINK DIFFERENT.” – Steve Jobs

Give the middle finger to conformity like all of us here at RHLG! We are out to change the world!
